Community

We are a community of like-minded horse enthusiasts brought together by a shared zeal for horses, similar horsemanship values and a desire to enjoy mutually-beneficial partnerships with our horses. Whether you enjoy horses for pleasure, live for trail riding adventures or seek to compete on the local or national level, horse enthusiasts of all skill levels and backgrounds are welcome to the MRR boarding community. At Mountain Rose Ranch we value:

1) Safety of horse and human
We seek to educate ourselves and our horses in safe horsemanship practices. We believe in investing the necessary time to ensure maximum safety and success in what we do. We are a riding helmet friendly community believing this is one of the most integral steps we can take toward safety, so helmets are both welcomed and encouraged by all riders at MRR. Important: Though encouraged on all riders, helmets are required on any rider under the age of 19 any time seated upon a horse and also any time a rider is participating in the MRH instruction program.

2) Integrity of horse and human
We hold the horse in high esteem and place great importance on honoring the integrity of our horses and ourselves over quick fixes or results-only training strategies. This means honoring the horse's instinctive needs, natural talents and individual rate of learning to ensure a mutually agreeable and beneficial result.

3) Emotional development of horse and human
We believe horses can teach us, inspire us and further us and we have a responsibility to do the same for them. We are committed to understanding the horse and open to the exploration and development of self.

4) Subsequent partnership of horse and human
We believe there are few things as rewarding as a mutually-beneficial partnership with a horse. We are dedicated to the practice and pursuit of excellent horsemanship whereby the relationship is as good for the horse as it is for the human.
