Versatility Ranch Horse Competition —

October 3, 2009 — Mountain Rose Frisco and Mountain Rose Charisma made stellar debut appearances at this years Silver Jubilee Versatility Ranch Horse (VRH) Competition held at the CSU Equine Event Center.

Frisco competed in the yearling division of the RMQHA Young Horse Program (YHP) which consists of 3 classes: Lunge Line, Trail and Conformation. Frisco executed flawless performances in the Lunge Line and Trail class making him the overall winner of the yearling division and MRHT's first money earner. Congratulations little Frisco!

Chinook and Emily competed the following day as proud members of the Barnes Ranch VRH team. Having ridden under the skillful tutelage of Jeff and Gerrie Barnes throughout the year, this event was the perfect opportunity to showcase all that had been learned. VRH is comprised of 5 individual events: Ranch Cutting, Ranch Trail, Ranch Riding, Working Ranch Horse and Conformation. Some of the competition highlights (besides Frisco's win) were successfully cutting and penning the cow, having an exceptional trail class and enjoying the energy and fun of the day with supportive teammates, friends and family.

My sincere thanks to Gerrie and Jeff for sharing their plethora of knowledge and abundant skills this past year. Our ears are pricked forward in anticipation for the 2010 season!
