Western Dressage World Show Ripe with Ribbons for MRH! —

November 15, 2014 — Emily and some of the horses and students of MRH were in attendance once again at the 2nd annual Western Dressage World Show which took place in Tulsa, OK on November 1st and 2nd. She was accompanied again by MRH student, Kathy Lewis and her mare, Simon Says I'm Solo (World Champion winners from last year!) and also brought Glenn Friendt's horse, Awesome Misty.

And speaking of awesome, that is exactly what the show was for everyone involved! Emily kicked off the competition weekend aboard Glenn's horse, Misty, placing 4th and 5th in the world. She competed as well on her gelding, Mountain Rose Charisma (Chinook), earning themselves not one, but two Reserve Champion titles!

Kathy and Solo enjoyed some stellar rides and really showcased their new and improved partnership! Of course, the lucky stars can't always be in our favor and with a couple of spooky moments in the show ring for Solo (the culprit being the evidently horse-eating-camera-guy) they were not able to place as high as hoped, but enjoyed yet another fruitful show to wrap up a fabulous year of progress and learning! A clearly proud coach, Emily had this to say, "I was so pleased with Solo and how nicely she carried over all that we have been working on with her at home to this new and more challenging venue. And Kathy, as always, did a fine, fine job meeting her mare where she was at in a given moment and honoring her accordingly. These two really showcased their partnership and that is exactly what it is about!".

"This year's show was SO MUCH FUN and it was such a treat for me to compete!" beamed Emily. "I was 7 months pregnant at the time of last year's event, so while I coached, I did not ride myself. Hence, it was a big personal and professional goal of mine to get to actually compete this year -- the same year as having my son. I both met and exceeded all the goals I set for myself in going down and had such an all around grand time!" With such grandiose things to say about the show, it is certain you will catch Emily and company again at next year's Western Dressage World Show . . .and the year after that . . . and the one after that!
